This is the second in a series of duo recordings I have in the works for 2003. The simple premise behind this series is to collaborate with other jazz musicians to explore great songs in the intimate duo setting.
"One of the better duo CDs around, A must have for any guitar enthusiast."

EXCERPTS FROM THE LINER NOTES: My goal for this [2003 Duo Series] project is to conduct a series of musical conversations with my friends and like-minded musicians. The common ground which we share, the basis for our dialogs is the mutual admiration and respect for the songs we choose to play. In these performances we are not trying to impose any kind of agenda on the compositions, instead we are using them and the moods and ideas they each inspire as vehicles to guide our musical discussions. Mahlon Hoard is a great person to talk to about music or talk with through music. He is an experienced player and an exceptional listener. Through his music one can hear his respect for melody and tradition but one can also sense his inclination to explore and search for a deeper meaning and understanding, and for something new. This translates into compelling, thoughtful music.
